The present generation, four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited or at least that's what driving techniques team wants you to think. Instead, it is likely the beginning of a test mule for the next-generation Wrangler, which will be out in a year or more as a model 2017. The Wranglers Bodywork may not change from Wrangler regular clothes, but hiding the chassis, suspension, and perhaps even enhancements body will appear on the new model.
Some modern vehicles have iconic status of the Wrangler, and thus every clean sheet redesign approached with a mixture of respect and skepticism. The fanboys all want to know whether Jeep will succumb to the Wrangler try and correct formula ladder frame rugged, precise four-wheel drive with low range, and a pair of axles solid while the rest of the world wondering how the Jeep can stick weapon while also embracing the reality of material Modern fuel economy.
The new Wrangler is certain that it will not be a radical departure fear hard core fans, as it will maintain a solid front and rear axles, fourwheel drive, and body on frame construction. However, the body can be at least partially supplied from aluminum, and you can bet the burly frame would get yet lighter. so far only Wrangler features a strong fall on the sword is a fold-down glass, new things, it was suggested, it goes unnoticed by all but the most powerful Jeep owners.
Spy photos give us our first good look at the bottom of the next Wrangler-literally, as our intrepid spy actually crawl under the prototype. The strips are there to throw people off; What, we're not sure, although it is possible that Jeep engineers take a page from the Ford development handbook and has built the current Wrangler body out of aluminum for testing and hide in plain sight.
Besides knowing that Jeep is working to ensure suitable ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic Chrysler in the new Wrangler (does not fit in the current model), partly underhood SUV secret remains just that. Depending on how much weight is able to remove from Wrangler Jeep, SUV might be able to take advantage of the four-cylinder as it has in the past, but the engine is most likely keep this updated version of the Pentastar V-6. A four-cylinder diesel could make the grade, and it should be, considering how rich but efficient diesel torque and blunt, un-aerodynamic SUV with off-road aspirations are a great match. Four-wheel drive will be standard, but you already know that.
